Christmas Tree made from Deco Mesh

Work in progress, now that I have the basic shape and how to do it down I can go back and embellish the tree.  This one stands right at 3 ft tall and took a roll and a half of the mesh.

What does use as the support? I have never really worked with art mesh, but love this designs and really want to try it! Any tips would be great!!
